This mural was painted in on-campus accommodation for Australian National University students.
The mural was painted over a week, and students helped paint sections of the mural.
Belonging Mural for New Students in Canberra
As a muralist, I had the incredible opportunity to collaborate with 160 students to create this vibrant mural at the Australian National University’s Canberra campus.
Designed to transform the dining hall into a more welcoming and inclusive space, the mural fosters a sense of belonging for first-year students as they settle into university life.
Spanning approximately 20 meters in length and 4 meters in height, the project required all students to paint from a standing position, while I handled the upper sections using ladders.
My challenge was to translate the original concept into a design that embraced diversity and inclusivity—mission accomplished! ✅
This mural style would be a perfect fit for hospitals, wellness centres, public spaces, and other educational institutions.
